MAKING WEEKEND PLANS? It’s amazing what a couple of hours outside can do for your sense of well-being. Fresh air, sunshine, and physical activity are good for your body and mind.
The Baron Ranch Trails are open every day from sunrise to sunset. A great place to kick off the fall season with a serene walk in nature on the Gaviota Coast. The trailhead is only 15 minutes west of Goleta. The trail is open for trail running, hiking, biking, and horseback riding.
- WHAT: Self-guided hiking at Baron Ranch
- WHEN: Any day of the week
- WHERE: Gaviota Coast
- WHY: Easy to access, parking on Calle Real, views of the ocean and islands, abundant wildlife, and more.
- LENGTH: The Loop Trail is approximately 7.75 miles round-trip. The Arroyo Quemado Trail covers 6 miles to Camino Cielo.
- DIFFICULTY: The first mile through the canyon is relatively flat. Afterward, moderate to strenuous in the mountain foothills.
- RESTRICTIONS: No Dogs
