In 1973, the Trails Council's first report proposed a county-wide trail system with a coastal trail and a mission-to-mission trail. We are still working to achieve the vision put forth by the founding members of the Trails Council. In 2020, we provided a research grant to Cicerone Press and guidebook author Sandy Brown to create the definitive book on the California Missions Trail in our Central Coast region. The first edition was published in 2022, and it is now in its second edition, with distribution online and in bookstores worldwide. Over the years, we have produced various studies and provided content for numerous environmental impact reports. Below are links to summaries of a few of our reports and analyses.
