CLAWS (Committees for Land, Air, Water and Species) serves as a dedicated advocate for environmental and social justice on California’s Central Coast. Through specialized committees focusing on land, air, water, and species, CLAWS addresses a range of community concerns, from challenging unsustainable development projects to promoting alternative transportation solutions. The organization also honors Indigenous heritage by fiscally sponsoring the Xus Chumash Bear Circle, supporting efforts to reclaim and preserve Chumash cultural traditions and ancestral lands.
