Trails are featured in the Recreation Master Plan

The comment period for the draft Countywide Recreation Master Plan will close on March 11th at 5 pm. While the document addresses a full range of recreational opportunities for Santa Barbara County, we need your help informing county decision-makers how important it is to you that the Master Plan makes it easier to protect and expand our public trail system.

Please email the Deputy Director of County Parks, Jeff Lindgren, the following message or modify it to address your concerns about new trails.

Dear Mr. Lindgren,

As a trail user, I am excited about the potential opportunities for our County's trail system as proposed in the Recreation Master Plan. Please adopt strong policies within the Master Plan that ensure the protection and expansion of our public trail system. Additionally, I ask that the Master Plan include the trails proposed in the County's community plans and explore new opportunities, particularly new trails into the Los Padres National Forest on the Gaviota Coast and more new trails in the Santa Maria, Santa Ynez, Lompoc, and Carpinteria Valleys.

Thank you for considering this request!
